A CASSERLY INTERIOR'S

True artisans, Interior Designer Angela & artist husband Andrei believe a home should reflect the personalities of the people who live in them and their own unique sense of style. Angela's design sensibility and Andrei's artistic eye, when combined offer projects of distinctive and unique character. They strive to create one-of-a-kind, luxurious & timeless spaces.

ABOUT THE DESIGNERS

Husband and wife designers, Andrei and Angela originally both started their careers as fine-artists in California. They regulary showed their work at galleries in San Francisco, the city they met in. They were asked to collaborate on an art piece together and realised after working with one another that they complimented each others asethetics. An entrepreneurial drive inspired them to start their own business. Angela was always passionate about Interior Design, since childhood she would assist her artist mother in decorating their home. Angela went to school for Art & Design in Stillorgan, Dublin. A lover of traveling, she has lived in cities such as Milan, Faro, Berlin, Los Angeles, San Francisco. All of which have majorly influenced her design point of view. Andrei, originally Belarusian, immigrated to New York City in 1996, he eventually moved to San Francisco to study Art & Illustration at the Academy of Art, from 2000 - 2006. Andrei assisted esteemed artist/muralist Michael Dute for many years. They decorated private residences and commercial spaces in Napa Valley, California. Andrei considers Dute to have been a mentor and inspiration, they remain good friends.

Angela has an architectural point of view, a vibrant, eclectic aesthetic and a great eye for unique furnishings while Andrei's interest in history influences his classical and technical approach to Art & Design. His main focus is in classical painting and sculpture, he enjoys the old masters approach to sculpting 18th century motifs and molding from scratch. Their combined talents offers something truly special.

VICTORIAN ITALIANTE,
SAN FRANCISCO

Classic Old World Interior

Angela wanted to create an old world classic interior inspired by San Franciscan Architecture, 19th-century Victorian Italianate.  She designed and decorated this room in her home in the Mission District in San Francisco with the hopes of it feeling tranquil, inviting and fresh. Soft hues in this living room provide an ideal clean canvas for a large ornate fireplace which Angela designed and built herself. She sculpted the ribbon and ornate crest detail and painted faux marble on the fire surround. Andrei added his painterly talents by adding Trompe-l'œil panels to the walls. He painted a portrait of Mother and Pup Sighthounds which look beautifully framed inside the hand-painted panels. The little house sitting on an antique Singer Sewing table was given a new lease on life, Angela salvaged legs from two wrought iron tables and incorporated them into one. A & A built the mini victorian house to cover an old record player. They also built and upholstered the chaise seating from scratch. An architectural process they immensely enjoyed. Large cowhide pillows add an element of masculinity to this classic Victorian.

All one-of-a-kind handcrafted pieces. Everything you see in this room, excluding the books, vase and gilded frame were items the couple designed and created. Surrounded by their sculptures, art and own furnishings, the true artists in them wouldn't allow their home to be any other way.

Charcoal and Chalk Mural

HEAD OF HYGIEIA

We painted a charcoal paneled mural of Greek Goddess Head Of Hygieia. Hygieia was one of the Aeclepiadae; the sons and daughters of the god of medicine, Asclepius, and the goddess of healing, Epione. She was the goddess/personification of health and cleanliness. We gave this room a classic contemporary mix. An eclectic aesthetic... a clash of patterns, bright pops of colour and very rich in design. A very one of a kind artistic approach to interior design.

BOTANICAL GARDEN

A botanical indoor garden for a childs room.

A favourite project of ours. Not only because the room's dweller is a magical and talented little girl with lots of imagination who speaks (& is in the midst of learning) multiple languages, dances and plays the piano but mostly because her mum, a Canadian based art critic and curator who hired us to paint her childs room for her 3rd birthday gave us absolute creative freedom. That was a descriptive mouthful! There is nothing better than having full creative freedom. It was a dream to channel my inner child and design this room, imagining myself being the little girl growing up in this artistic and progressive environment. I developed the concept and assisted Andrei in bringing this botanical mural to life by adding all the whimsical details. The camouflaged jib door was especially fun to decorate.

          AN INDOOR GARDEN

       ATELIER / DANCE STUDIO

Commissioned by an Avant Garde Ballet Dancer who loves the outdoors

A bespoke botanical mural we hand-painted for a Parisian ballet dancer. A customer who adores the outdoors, nature and all things environmental. She wanted an indoor garden to allow her mind to relax so she could preform her best while in her dance studio.

19TH CENTURY COUNTRY LANDSCAPE DECORATIVE MURAL

A NEOCLASSICAL DINING ROOM

Neoclassical Double Doors in the Dining Room.

MARIE-ANTOINETTE BLUE ROOM

Inspired by the pale blue salon of Marie Antoinette in Versailles.

We painted the double doors baby blue and added gilded gold trim. We painted faux panels on the walls, using Trompe-l'œil skills to interplay between shadow and light. Each motif was hand-sculpted and given a antique-y, aged, patina effect to give the illusion of authenticity. Et voilà, you feel like you've stepped back in time into a charming and feminine 18th Century Salon.
